A Play on Light and Shadow

Not much light was getting into the closed-off kitchen of this shady Chapel Hill home. By removing some key walls and balancing the dark dusk blue of the cabinets with light countertops, paint, and tile, we gave this kitchen an airy feeling while keeping it grounded. Keeping the finishes simple lets the hardwood flooring and beautiful marbleized tile stand out. Already a reported success with the family, we hope this kitchen continues to bring joy for years to come!
